You want to go racing? You just want a great track day car? You want to just sit in your driveway and listen to the greatest sounds on earth? This is your car. This is as badass as it gets. The car has 0 hours since a complete going over and engine rebuild by a professional racecar prep shop. This car was last raced in B / Production in Southern California last year and is very competitive. This car has well over $150k invested in it. Have one of the coolest cars on the track for less than 1/3 of that. Sold on a bill of sale. You need to call now on this on it isn't going to stick around.
Records for this car date back to 2010 when Rick Perry of El Cajon, CA began an earnest conversion of a street Sting Ray for racing purposes. Much time was spent getting the suspension just right with many handwritten notes documenting the settings used.
Here are the details -
The 383 small block chevy engine equipped with JE pistons, a SCAT crank, Crower rods, solid lifter roller cam, roller rockers and AFR cylinder heads giving the car a respectable 12.5:1 compression ratio and a little over 600 bhp.
An Edelbrock intake manifold equipped with a 850 CFM Holley double pumper 4-bbl carburetor provide the fuel. A custom 3” exhaust system lets it all breathe properly. All system are monitored by a full complement of racing gauges.
A Tilton 7”, 4 disc clutch and hydraulic throw-out bearing connect the Tex Racing NASCAR 4-speed transmission to the engine and 4:11 Posi Corvette rear end to make the most efficient use of the 600+ hp. Cooling is provided via an FSR radiator and electric fan. Transmission gear ratios: 1st-2.19:1, 2nd-1.73:1, 3rd1.54:1 & 4th 1.0.
Stopping is provided via Baer 13” competition disc brakes with dual Tilton master cylinders and dash mounted brake balance adjustment. Custom 16”X12” rims are fitted with Hoosier Road Racing Slicks.
The front suspension utilizes Coleman tubular A-arms with oversize ball joints attached to C5 Corvette aluminum spindles. Penske remote reservoir adjustable coil-over racing shocks control the action and tubular sway bar with rod end links controls the roll. Power rack and pinion makes it easy to drive. An aluminum strut brace keeps everything square.
The custom rear suspension cures the dreaded C3 Corvette "rear steer" by using C5 corvette aluminum uprights with a custom 4-bar setup. Penske remote reservoir adjustable coil-over racing shocks control the action and tubular sway bar with rod end links controls the roll.
Many spare parts including 8 sets of springs for suspension tuning, several different sizes of anti-roll bars and a $6000 matching set of wheels and brand new set of Hoosier tires accompany the car as well as records and receipts
